We bought this beautiful rig to tour the western part of the United States and find our
forever home. In the process we enjoyed waking up to a new view every few weeks. If we
loved where we were, we stayed a little longer. If we didn t we moved on to the next
adventure of our liking
This sweet ride never caused us an ounce of trouble. Now I m not saying she is brand new.
She is a 2005 Monaco Safari Gazelle and we bought her used. She has miles on the carpet
but the tile, cabinets, built-in washer/dryer combo, very comfortable inflatable bed,
Flexsteel seats, beautiful built-ins, carved bedroom headboard, and well outfitted kitchen
with a large pantry are all in beautiful shape.
In the process of our travels, we provided many upgrades to keep life on the road and
boondocking, a luxury event.
This includes:
- Renergy solar System consisting of 6 each 100 watt panels provide ample power
to charge 6 - 100 amp hr lithium house batteries
- 2 12 volt maintenance free start batteries
- Under bay Water softener
- Shocks changed all around with Koni FSD shocks (8 total)
- Safe T-Steer-added for cross wind assist
- Tire monitor kit
We learned the refrigerator she came with could be temperamental, so it was replaced with
a 2-120 v ac Amish refrigerator compressors unit. The Norcold system was removed and
discarded. This was the perfect move to keep everything icy cold...including ice! And of
course, Ice Cream.
The interior is beautifully outfitted with well-maintained Maple cabinets, a large pantry and
a microwave convection oven. The three slide outs provide ample room for you and your
guests. We can comfortably seat multiple guests for dinner and even an overnight stay. Talk
about ample room, this even included our traveling Husky...plenty of room for all. The
couch pulls out to an amazingly comfortable queen-sized bed.
This girl is mechanically sound (see the video) but the Arizona sun at 115 degrees caused
issues with the front and driver s side paint and a wall crack in the closet and by the
captain s chair. She can handle a lot but the intense Arizona sun wasn t one of them.
The seamless molded fiberglass roof ensures dry travels.
With a Go-Anywhere 400 HP Turbo Diesel Caterpillar engine, Allison 300-MH 6 speed world
transmission and a 10,000 lb hitch receiver, you are ready to go and find your next
adventures and maybe your next forever home.
